Grant’s article tells of the skills of Assoc Professor Leo Donnan, the surgeon who took on his case, and the generous contribution of St Vincent’s Private Hospital.

Thiery returned home to Madagascar on 4 May, escorted by Roxanne and Thierry Le Blanc, the Melbourne couple who met him and then cared for him during his stay.
