Introducing our new visual image

With the formal departure of Moira Kelly AO from Children First, we’re proud to unveil our new visual image.  Foundation Chairman Roger Langley introduced the new logo to guests at our Gala Ball on Saturday night.

Moira Kelly stepped down from her active role with Children First in 2011 and for a short time assumed the role of a Principal Ambassador.  At the Foundation’s Annual General Meeting in 2013, Moira stepped down as a Director, and shortly after ceased acting as an Ambassador.

Moira is now undertaking new projects and it has been understandably confusing for both parties, and their supporters, for her name to remain within Children First’s logo and identity.

Moira’s vision inspired the formation of Children First Foundation which was established in 1999 to support and expand her humanitarian work.  She played an active role, supported by volunteers, in caring for children and overseeing the medical evacuation of international children to Australia until her departure three years ago.

Since then Children First’s work has continued and grown, this year celebrating 15 years of transforming the lives of disadvantaged international and Australian children, supported by surgeons, hospitals and health professionals, donors and volunteers who contribute to the Foundation’s programs.

“Moira was the inspiration behind the Foundation’s establishment,” said Mr Langley. ”Her humanitarian spirit will always be remembered and acknowledged in the historic narrative of the Foundation.  We wish her well in whatever work she undertakes in the future.”

We were delighted to welcome Grand Belgian Specialties Managing Director Georgy Helssen, Ontrack CEO Steve Natsis and the Priceline Sisterhood team to morning tea at the Farm recently.

In addition to joining us for morning tea, there was another very special purpose to Georgy’s visit – he presented us with the incredible donation of $10,000.

Grand Belgian Specialties, provider of tailor made Belgian Chocolate Gifts, has joined forces with Priceline Pharmacy to support the work of Children First.  Together they have created a beautiful Sisterhood Foundation Bear, adorned with delicious heart-shaped chocolates, as part of Priceline’s in-store Christmas collection.  Georgy’s donation is from the sale of the Bears.

Georgy and Steve travelled to Kilmore in the fabulous pink Sisterhood jeep, and while our ‘car fanatic’ Motaz checked it out, Theresa, Kashmala and Dorcas inspected the contents of the box of goodies the Priceline girls brought for them.  There were many squeals of excitement when they found nail polish in all colours at the bottom of the box.

We are very grateful to Grand Belgian Specialties for this generous donation, and also thank Priceline for their continued support.

You can purchase a Grand Belgian Specialties-Priceline Sisterhood Foundation Bear from Priceline Pharmacies for $7.99.
