Yafi returns home after life saving treatment

Almost a year to the day since having surgery Yafi is preparing to return home to his family in Indonesia.

Channel 7 News reporter Christie Cooper caught up with Yafi as he began packing for his journey home.  His story went to air on Sunday 6 December.

We heard of Yafi’s plight through specialist endocrinologist Dr Margaret Zacharin from the Royal Childrens Hospital, who continued consulting throughout his treatment, Mr Peter McNeill operated at St Vincent’s Private Hospital,  and he underwent radiotherapy with Mr Michael Dally at Epworth Hospital.

The generosity of so many medical professionals and hospital staff is heart-warming and we thank all those  involved in his care.  

Yafi also sends his appreciation to everyone who has not only changed his life, but literally saved it.
