The Age photographer Eddie Jim followed Koko from his home in PNG to Children First for life changing surgery at St Vincent’s Private Hospital.

Children First Foundation heard of Koko’s situation through the team at No Roads to Health.

Orthopaedic surgeon Leo Donnan agreed to treat him, and St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Melbourne provided his hospital care.  With his flight funded by Children First, the No Roads to Health team escorted him to Australia.

Eddie travelled with the team to Papua New Guinea to meet Koko and his family and record his journey to Children First’s Home in Australia.

You can read about Koko’s journey in this wonderful interactive feature.
