Elizabeth Lodge received a warm welcome from all when she joined Children First Foundation as Chief Executive Officer.

Elizabeth boasts a long association with Children First.  Her first connection was many years ago when her children’s school conducted a fundraiser to help build the Farm – now known as the Miracle sMiles Retreat.

Elizabeth’s journey to this position with Children First has been varied.  After 20 years in education, she joined the non-profit sector as state manager of another children’s charity.  Her passion has always been to work with children, particularly those who face challenges where she can make a difference.

Elizabeth brings a strong background in governance, leadership, relationship management, strategic and operational development, fundraising and financial management to Children First.

Foundation chairman Mr Roger Langley said the board is delighted that Elizabeth accepted the position of CEO.  “We are very fortunate to have someone of Elizabeth’s experience and knowledge of the not-for-profit sector,” said Mr Langley.  “We are confident her strengths in building relationships, fundraising and strategic planning will help us achieve our objectives of helping more children.”

Elizabeth said she believes in taking life on, especially when the going gets tough.

“Many of the children I have previously worked with have faced incredibly tough times, ” she said.  “They took life on and actively enriched their own lives.

“The extraordinarily positive and trusting kids at Children First are just as determined and aspirational.  They just need a helping hand along the way.

“Together with a bunch of amazingly committed staff, volunteers, Directors, doctors and health professionals, we are lending a hand, and contributing to these courageous children.  I am delighted to be working with them all, and look forward to assisting many more disadvantaged children from overseas in the years ahead.”
