The Miracle sMiles Program
Children First’s Miracle sMiles Program facilitates life-changing, sometimes life-saving surgery in Australia for children from developing countries.
Many of the children are referred by our Referral Partners, and we also accept referrals from families and friends, medical professionals, volunteers abroad and tourists.
Conditions must be operable and not able to be treated in the child’s country: we seek this assurance from Australian surgeons who partner with us. We are also supported by hospitals who provide beds pro bono or at humanitarian rates.
Once a case is accepted we assist families to secure passports and we arrange and fund visas and travel.
While they are in Australia children are cared for at our Miracle sMiles Retreat in rural Kilmore, a safe and peaceful setting for children who may come from remote villages or busy towns. A purpose-built house is situated on 42 acres of land that was donated by a local Rotarian.
