Rehab at the Retreat

Rehabilitation post-surgery is a major focus of care at the Retreat. This is to ensure they return home in optimum condition as most will return to homes where medical follow up is scarce.

A purpose-built and fully equipped physiotherapy room is located at the Retreat. This is adjacent to an enclosed rehabilitation pool that can be used year-round. The pool is particularly beneficial for children from certain cultures, and those with visible disabilities which cause them embarrassment in public pools. The ‘Rehab at the Retreat’ program is supported by volunteer physiotherapists under the guidance of the physio team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital.
